Texas is the headquarters for 45 Fortune 500 companies, is home to 14 of the 100 Fastest Growing Businesses in America (as rated by Fortune Small Business), and has maintained healthy bond ratings despite tough economic times across America. Additionally, Texas employment growth exceeded national employment growth rates in 2005; December 2005 marked 16 consecutive months. Texas employment gained 153,500 non-agricultural jobs in 2005 for an annual growth rate of 1.6% of state non-agricultural job growth. But the best news about Texas is its business climate.
